Astrological Ages

Published: October 17, 2006

According to Dr. Shepherd Simpson, an astrological age is the period of time during which the vernal equinox point can be seen against the stars of a particular constellation . He claims that we are currently in the age of Pisces and that there are 12 different astrological ages.

The astrological age that we are currently in is sometimes debated by different astrologers but the basics are not.

Astrologists agree that astrological ages occur because of the precision of equinoxes. After all 12 ages have completed, a Great Sidereal Year has completed, which is about 25,000-30,000 years. According to Wikipedia, each age contains 30 degrees which come to about 2150 to 2160 years and is lead by the zodiacal sign of the constellation in which the Sun actually appears at the Vernal equinox in the Northern hemisphere.

Society tends to relate historical events to the current astrological age. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the seven astrological ages that have already completed.

  • The Age of Leo- Otherwise known as Leo-Aquarius was around 10,500 B.C. to around 8,000 B.C. Oftentimes astrologers and historians connect the well known sphinx in Egypt to this time frame. Not only is the sphinx a lion, the symbol of the Leo sign, it is position in such a way that it would line up with the constellation Leo around the beginning of this astrological age.

  • The Age of Cancer- Also known as Cancer-Capricorn, this astrological age occurred around 8,000 B.C. to 6,000 B.C. Various sources claim there may be a correlation between the great flood of the Bible and the age of Cancer.

  • The Age of Gemini- Otherwise known as Gemini-Sagittarius, presented itself around 6,000 B.C. to 4,100 B.C. During this astrological age a great development occurred in the writing of languages and trading. The symbol of Gemini, the twins, can be seen as a symbol of communication.

  • The Age of Taurus- Otherwise known as Taurus-Scorpio, occurred around 4,100 B.C. to 1,900 B.C. The symbol for this sign is the bull, which correlates directly to the numerous numbers of bull-worshipping cults that began around this same time.

  • The Age of Aries- Also known as Aries-Libra, this astrological age was around 1,900 B.C. to A.D. 200. Because Aries represents a fire symbol it is not unusual that during this time frame many empires all around the world arose. Also, because Aries symbol is a ram, there can be seen a correlation between this astrological age and the sacrifice of Abraham's ram.

  • The Age of Pisces- Also known as Pisces-Virgo, occurred around 200 A.D. to the current time. Pisces symbolizes a fish so that a direct correlation can be seen between this astrological age and Christianity; Jesus also symbolizes a fish.

  • The Age of Aquarius- Will also be known as Aquarius-Leo and has not happened yet. Astrologists assume that the ending of Pisces will bring a downturn in Christianity. Jesus (representing Pisces) will die when the man bearing a pitcher of water appears, representing Aquarius.
