Scorpio Zodiac Sign & Astrology: Profile, Compatability And Symbols

The scorpion seems like a menacing arachnid to most, with its stinging capabilities and lethal venom. Yet most people are unaware that scorpions are rather harmless to human beings. The same can be applied to people who fall under the Scorpio zodiac sign. Scorpios may seem to have a sting based on their ominous personalities, but like the scorpion, one will quickly realize that Scorpios are generally harmless.

Those interested in astrology know that people born under the Scorpio zodiac sign are complex individuals: deep and illusory, yet relatively harmless. Even those who are not directly interested in astrology can learn much about his or her personality by studying qualities or traits characteristic of their zodiac signs. For example, Scorpio zodiac signs are characterized by  mysteriousness, the need to be in control, and complexity. Even people who view astrology as pagan cannot deny the similarities in their inherent natures and those of the zodiac symbols related to their birth date.

The Scorpio zodiac sign is the eighth sign of the zodiac and includes anyone whose birthday falls between the dates of October 23 through November 21. Zodiac signs are further classified into different elements: earth, air, fire, and water. The Scorpio zodiac sign is considered a water sign, and is also referred to as the sun in Scorpio.

The Scorpio zodiac sign breeds a strong-willed, intensely passionate person. Other characteristics that fall under the Scorpio profile includes a brilliant manipulation of emotions, a mastery of hiding stinging secrets hidden behind a self-assured countenance, and the stamina to bounce back from even the most fierce upsets in life.

Certain aspects of the Scorpio profile are positive. There is a certain determination representative of those with the Scorpio zodiac sign that allows the Scorpio to accomplish nearly any goal set in front of him or her. The art of reasoning coupled with self-confidence also allows success in the life of a Scorpio.

The Scorpio zodiac sign also exhibits, without a doubt, negative personality traits. The Scorpio zodiac sign tends to harbor resentment if ever scorned by a friend or loved one. If a Scorpio finds compatibility with another sign who wishes to share the limelight, he or she may act possessive and jealous of that person.

It is due to the aggressiveness of the people who fall under the Scorpio zodiac sign, that begs the question of how Scorpios measure up when compared with other zodiac signs. People under the rule of other zodiac symbols can share equally passionate qualities, and in turn, these emotions clash. Scorpio zodiac sign mismatches in astrology include those who fall under the zodiac symbols represented by fire and air.

Fire signs such as Leo, Sagittarius, and Aries tend to clash with Scorpio zodiac signs due to similarities in the personality such as aggression and stubbornness. Air signs, which include Aquarius, Libra, and Gemini, are less compatible with Scorpios as well. Zodiac sign compatibility research shows that Air signs have shared qualities with Scorpios, like cleverness and dogmatism.

Zodiac sign compatibility charts state that Scorpio zodiac sign gets along best with other water signs such as Cancer and Pisces, and earth signs such as Capricorn, Virgo, and Taurus. This is likely contributed to the more grounded nature of these signs. Both water and earth signs exhibit nurturing and practical traits that equalize the Scorpio's overbearing traits.

This is not to say that people who do not possess zodiac sign compatibility cannot sustain relationships. Astrology is not a non-faulty dating bible. It simply means that people with similar zodiac symbols should take note of personality aspects that conflict and work with their signs.

Astrology is not all reading horoscopes and predicting the future. Astrology can be used to overturn behaviors such as those of the Scorpio zodiac sign, and give useful insight into personalities of those who possess conflicting zodiac symbols. The Scorpio zodiac sign can be a complex one, but Scorpios and other signs alike can study and use the knowledge to create a harmonious relationship.
