Astrological Compatibility

One can easily hop onto the Internet and find concise quips of astrological compatibility.
Sites often rely primarily on two people’s sun signs to create the prediction of whether or not they are compatible. Generally, people seeking astrological compatibility are referring to a romantic interest, but it can be applied to any relationship, such as teacher-to-student relationships or father-to-son relationships.
It
is incorrect to assume one can figure out the ideal mate from sun signs alone. In fact, the moon, all nine planets and the ascendant combine to play important roles, with the sun, moon and ascendant weighing the most. The sun sign represents a person’s approaches to major goals and their real inner-self. Whether or not two people’s attitudes and beliefs are compatible depends on where the sun falls within each person’s sign.
The moon represents each person’s more impressionistic side as well as their inner feelings and driving emotions. The location of the moon in two people’s sun signs reveals whether or not the astrological compatibility of the hidden emotional level of each person will clash or correspond.
The ascendant often has to do with the first impressions we get from others. Astrological compatibility relies heavily on whether or not two people receive good impressions upon first meeting.
All of this information can be obtained by researching a person's natal chart, which is a chart drawn up through a person's exact birth date and time.
An easier way to predict astrological compatibility relies on the elements of two people's sun signs. It is commonly thought that two people are more compatible if their elements are the same, such as, an Aries and Leo since the two sharing a fiery nature. Astrologers agree, though, that even though it seems a fire and water sign would clash and extinguish each other, if they are both extreme personalities embodying the two signs, the two will calm each other down just enough to create true astrological compatibility.
Two charts have been created to apply astrological compatibility using synastry, which involves comparing the position of all the planets in two people's charts.
The relationship chart, created by Ronald Davison, uses a midpoint between two people’s birth dates to compile astrological compatibility. For example, when discovering the compatibility of two people born on Aug. 1, 1985, and Aug. 31, 1987, the date used in this chart would be Aug. 15, 1986.
The composite chart, developed by Robert Hand, uses the midpoint of two people’s suns, moons and all the planets. This way the relationship will be viewed as a separate and equally important entity and astrological compatibility is discovered through the negative and positive qualities the relationship exudes.
Since both charts combine qualities, each forfeits assessment of the individuals involved in the relationship.
Though it is much easier to grab a quick astrological compatibility report from a random Web site than to assess individual birth charts, review them in a light-hearted manner. Although it may hold some weight, as with horoscopes, astrological compatibility reports can be inaccurate in countless ways.
